Your go-to checklist for endless summer fun
With the unofficial kick-off to summer just past us, we’ve got nothing but the beach on our brains.
Don’t get caught scrambling when your group text blasts “beach day!” Read up on our must-have essentials so you can be prepared for nothing but fun in the sun.
Essential #1: Refreshing beach beverages
Roll up to the beach with beverages on hand. Warm temps and sunshine, while delightful, can easily dehydrate you if you’re not paying attention. Grab a reusable water bottle and fill it to the brim with this refreshing homemade coconut water lemonade. You might need to pack an extra bottle or two for friends. It’s too good not to!
Citrus-y Coconut Lemonade
- 4 cups coconut water
- 5 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Juice from 3 limes
- 3 tablespoons agave nectar
- 2 limes, sliced
- 2 lemons, sliced
- 1 orange, sliced
- A few mint leaves (optional)
In a pitcher, put lime, lemon, and orange slices together. Add lemon juice, lime juice, and agave nectar, and then pour in coconut water. Add ice cubes and mint garnish and mix well. Pour into your bottle and enjoy!
Essential #2: Accessories that go the distance

Next, be sure to keep your shade game strong with a sun hat. Covering your hair and shading your eyes with a wide brim is a great way to help minimize potential sun damage. But don’t forget that SPF…
Essential #3: SPF that protects your skin
Be sure to apply sunscreen *before* you arrive at the beach. Giving your SPF at least 15-20 minutes to fully absorb will help keep sunburns at bay from the get-go.
