Product details are included on each product page. Click on the ingredient list link on an individual product page to review detailed ingredient information for each item. Sometimes the ingredient list found on a product might be different than what you see on the website if a recent change in formula has occurred. Go with what you see on the packaging. The ingredient list on a physical product will always be reflective of the formula inside.
How do I know if I am allergic to any of your products?
Carefully review the ingredient list of any product you use to make sure it works for your needs. If you’ve got a specific allergy and are uncertain whether a product is safe for you, please consult a physician before use. As with any product, immediately discontinue use if you experience an allergic reaction. Seek medical treatment if necessary.
Are Alba Botanica® products safe to use during pregnancy?
Many congrats! All concerns regarding personal care products should be discussed with your health care provider.
Are Alba Botanica® products gluten-free?
Our plant-based ingredients come from a variety of sources which we don’t currently screen for traces of gluten. If a product is not specifically labelled Gluten-Free, it hasn’t been tested and cannot be guaranteed as such.
Alba Botanica® makes non-mineral and mineral sunscreens. What’s the difference?
All Alba Botanica® sunscreens strictly adhere to the requirements of the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and contain FDA-approved sunscreen active ingredients. Our mineral sunscreens contain only mineral sunscreen active ingredients (titanium dioxide and/or zinc oxide) which provide a physical barrier to ultra-violet radiation. Our non-mineral sunscreens contain sunscreen active ingredients that absorb ultra-violet radiation. All our mineral and non-mineral sunscreens are biodegradable and avoid the use of oxybenzone, PABA, Vitamin A, and nano-particles. We remind all consumers to use sunscreens as directed and to use other sun protection measures, including limiting exposure to the sun, especially between 10 am and 2 pm.

Thanks for your interest in our products! The vast majority of Alba Botanica® products are sold through distributors. Is Alba Botanica® packaging recyclable?
We believe in treating the Earth as well as we do our bodies. Using sensible and minimal packaging made with recycled and recyclable materials is very important to us. Many of our products are packaged in bottles made from 100% post-consumer resin. We review our packaging and processes regularly to find opportunities to further reduce our brand’s environmental footprint. Please refer to the recycle symbol on the packaging of Alba Botanica® brand plastic containers and recycle accordingly. Please note that this information can typically be found on the underside of the bottles. Cardboard packaging can be recycled along with other chipboard and cardboard materials.

The Alba Botanica® brand does not sell directly to consumers. However, you can conveniently buy a product through our website by clicking the “shop” button on any product’s individual product page. You will be directed to complete your purchase through one of our online retail partners. All order follow up and tracking inquiries should be handled directly with the online retailer.
Are all Alba Botanica® products available for purchase on your website?
With few exceptions, all Alba Botanica® brand items can be purchased from our website through one of our online retail partners. When the “shop” button is selected you will be directed to one or more retailers that currently stock the product you’re looking for.
Why did you stop making my favorite product?
We don’t like saying goodbye to our products either. Unfortunately, sometimes we have to discontinue a product if sales aren’t meeting our thresholds. We assure you products are only discontinued after careful review and discussion. We hope you’ll be able to find another product you love among our wide range of active products. We’re more than happy to suggest a replacement item - contact us any time to chat.

What does it mean that your products contain 100% vegetarian ingredients?
We love our friends, including the furry kind. That’s why we never test our products or any of the ingredients in them on animals. Our products contain no meat or by-products of animal killing. We also exclude all cruelly obtained animal ingredients, even if the animal isn’t killed. We limit our use of animal products to ingredients that have been deposited by animals and are of no future benefit to them, such as beeswax.
What is the Alba Botanica® brand policy on animal testing?
The Alba Botanica® brand does not test products or ingredients on animals. We make sure that our ingredient suppliers meet this same criterion of no animal testing. The Leaping Bunny logo found on Alba Botanica® labels is an outward symbol of this commitment.
What does the Leaping Bunny logo on Alba Botanica® packaging represent?
The Leaping Bunny logo is an internationally recognized symbol for cruelty-free cosmetics, personal care, and household products. In 1996, eight national animal protection groups banded together to form The Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC). This organization created and administers the Leaping Bunny Program. The Leaping Bunny Program provides the best assurance that no animal testing is used in any phase of product development by the company, its laboratories, or suppliers.
Why isn’t the Leaping Bunny logo on all Alba Botanica® products?
In some cases, we aren’t able to feature the Leaping Bunny logo on a product label due to space restrictions. However, all Alba Botanica® products are cruelty-free and part of the Leaping Bunny Program.
What makes Alba Botanica® products unique?
Alba Botanica® products are made with love using many natural, organic and cruelty-free ingredients. We’re passionate about delivering fine formulations that are better for you and for the planet. From rich vegetable and nut oils to plant extracts and essential oils, many of our ingredients are derived from Earth’s wonderful natural plant sources with an emphasis on sustainability. Our products are free of meat and by-products of animal killing. We exclude all cruelly obtained animal ingredients, even if the animal isn’t killed. We limit our use of animal products to ingredients that have been deposited by animals and are of no future benefit to them, such as beeswax. Our products are formulated without parabens, phthalates, artificial colors, harsh sulfates, propylene glycol, aluminum, mineral oil, petrolatum, oxybenzone, PABA, nano-particles, DEA, MEA or TEA, PEGs and PEG derivatives, ethoxylated ingredients associated with 1,4 dioxane, formaldehyde donors, and many other chemicals too numerous to name.
Are all Alba Botanica® products vegan?
All our products are vegan except for lip items which contain beeswax, Hawaiian Smoothing Sugar Cane Body Polish (which contains honey), and Unpetroleum Jelly (which contains beeswax).
What does it mean that products are biodegradable?
Formulations for all products with a biodegradable claim have been tested by an accredited third party laboratory in accordance with industry standard methodology for biodegradability claims. These formulas meet the required organic carbon to CO2 conversion rate necessary for Biodegradable Certification. Products that do not have a biodegradable claim on packaging have not been tested.
What is the shelf life of your products?
Shelf life varies from product to product. Please check the Open Jar symbol on packaging to determine how long a product will stay fresh after it’s been opened. An Open Jar symbol that reads “12M” indicated that a product will stay fresh for 12 months after being opened assuming normal use. While a product beyond this time frame could still be totally good to go, the Alba Botanica® brand formulators can no longer be certain that our strict standards of quality are satisfied and request that you stop using the product.
